Michael Gambon plays Professor Dumbledore

Michael Gambon plays Professor Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban following the death in 2002 of Richard Harris who played the role in the first two movies.

Michael Gambon won Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for his portrayal of US President Lyndon Johnson in Path to War. He also has four BAFTA Best Actor awards. BAFTA is the British equivalent of the Oscars - for his roles in The Singing Detective, Wives and Daughters, Longitude and Perfect Strangers.
