Investigations and profiteeringOne thing that really irritates me as a paranormal investigator, when you are trying to find locations to investigate, is that you make enquiries only to find places charge the earth just to get in! Now, I understand that ever since Most Haunted hit our TV screens a few years ago, there has been a plethora of investigation groups all wanting a slice of the action, and therefore the locations 'cash in' on the back of this (supply and demand). The downside to this is that most of the groups in existence which are non-profit making, are unable to afford the extortionate costs unless they are able to gather a lot of people to be able to split the cost equally amongst everyone, meaning locations could potentially become unaccessible. There are profiteering groups out there who charge several times what the non-profit groups do. Most Haunted are able to get access to many more places because they are simply able to wave the chequebook, and money does talk! I know of a local location, which I had recently investigated, where the profit-making group charged at least twice what the non-profit making group charged! My advice is if you ever do take the plunge and consider taking part in a paranormal investigation, please do find a non-profit making group. Do some research and never be afraid to ask questions when you find yourself a group. After all, it is your money that you paying and you want to know what you are letting yourself in for!!
