Lewis: Allegory of LoveKevin Whately was back for his third series of Lewis on 22nd March along with Laurence Fox as DS Hathaway and Laurence's dad playing the pompous university professor, Norman Deering. The series does seem to be settling into a set of clichéd representations of Oxford University and the innocent police superintendent but it was pleasant enough. This time Superintendent Innocent tries to hitch Robbie Lewis up with the murderer, who has difficulty getting the tribute to Lewis Carroll's Alice through The Looking Glass right. It's lucky that Lewis doesn't spend too much time with her. Colin Dexter makes his routine appearance this time walking out of the Randolph. And the cast have some difficulty pronouncing the name of an Argentinian writer, presumably written into the script for just that purpose. 6.8 million watched the episode.
