Olympic Village costs will now be paid by the UK taxpayerThe government admitted yesterday that the £1.1 billion Olympic Village for the 2012 Olympic Games in London will now be paid for by the taxpayer after all private sector offers were turned down. Two years ago the government claimed that the private sector would pay for the entire project. Tessa Jowell, told MPs that she plans to recoup some of the cost by selling off the flats in London's East End after the games. |

Where does the organising committee get this kind of money? No doubt it will now sneak back to Mummy Jowell and do it's impression of Oliver Twist!!
