Don't Count Haiti Out Just YetI was just doing my daily rounds of surfing the net and correcting some errors some blogs I posted on Greenwala; I had the urge to visit (and re-visit) some sites that offer free opportunities of sharing what's on their mind as of the last 15 minutes. I'm not a meme or Twitter kind of gal but, if that was the best way to bring out my thinking caps then, I'd give it a clear shot. Just this day, I found hundreds of Haiti advertisements - I don't blame web administrators for this tactic: Haiti and its survivors need us now more than ever. Over 50,000 people died and a score more were left homeless and defenseless against the quake - the aftermath is similar to what happened to Hiroshima and Nagasaki some 45 years ago. Everything is in shambles and people are left with no choice but to squat and scrape for anything that could shield them from the earthquake's aftermath. This is no joke: imagine buildings hanging above your head - any unstable movement could crush group of civilians thus, adding them to the total death toll. We all wish that kind of stuff would never occur - my point is, we need to pitch in order to restore, even if it means beginning from scratch, Haiti back to its former self. I myself would give up my salary for this. I work as a term paper writer for an online academic society and I'm planning to donate some of my earnings to the victims - I'll have to increase my productivity for this month and certainly, fatigue would rear its ugly head. Right now, I just don't want to talk anything but the Haiti disaster - let's just do our part to speed up the restoration process.
