Les Dennis - Comedian and impressionist

He was born Leslie Heseltine in 1954 in Liverpool.

For a few years he was the screen partner of fellow impressionist the late Dustin Gee. Les was Mavis (in Coronation Street) and Dustin was Vera Duckworth (also from the street)

His TV break came when winning New Faces, and then went on to appear in programmes such as 'who do you do?' and Russ Abbott's madhouse.

Les also hosted the very popular Family Fortunes.

He has appeared in Brookside. Jo Brand's Hot Potatoes and took part in Celebrity Big Brother and recently appeared in the Ricky Gervais comedy 'Extras'

Les was married to the actress Amanda Holden, but unfortunately they have now divorced.
