French Open: Record Breaking Mens Semi-Finals.

The top 4 Men' seeds made it through to today's semi-finals, and moved into the record books as it is twenty-one years since that previously happened at the Roland-Garros French Open championship.

It is Federer's eight consecutive Grand Slam semi-final, and by winning today ensures he will now play his 14th consecutive tournament final. Federer's last Grand Slam loss was to Rafael Nadal in the 2005 Roland-Garros French Open final.

Unfortunately third seed David Nalbandian was forced to retire because of a left side stomach strain after one hour and 38 minutes. Federer won by 3-6 6-4 5-2.

Defending champion and second seed Rafael Nadal plays the number 4 seed, Ivan Ljubicic. Nadal now has 58 consecutive wins on clay. They had three close matches last year on hard courts, Nadal winning twice to Ljubicic's once.

Today marks 27-year-old Ivan Ljubicic's first Grand Slam semi-final, and until this year Ljubicic had never made it past the third round of any major tournament.
