Visit from Sherry Ashworth
On Friday 29th September 2006, author Sherry Ashworth visited my school and spoke to a group of us.
She spoke about her writing and her new recent book: "Close-Up," letting us know how she planned to write it and how it actually turned out.
Sherry has written 19 books altogether. She began writing for adults, but soon changed to writing for teenagers. Now she tends to write teenage books that deal with serious real-life issues.
One of the things that she particularly touched on was how she as the creator of these characters became so emotionally involved with them that she felt she couldn't do anything bad to them like killing them off...etc...
She was a very friendly and inspirational person who communicated very well to her audience!
