Classic Television - ResnickUK Police Drama - BBC 1- 1992 - 1993 Two cases for a jazz-loving Midlands police officer Charlie Resnick is a detective in Nottingham. A second generation Pole in his mid-forties, he lives alone in a house full of cats. He has been long divorced from wife Elaine, but there are no children to complicate his life. His penchant for unusual sandwiches has contributed to his podgy build and his other passion is jazz music. Despite his glum exterior, Resnick brings humour as well as plenty of experience and intuition into his investigations. In his first TV outing, he tackles a killer of lonely hearts and this three-parter was followed a year later by a two-episode tale featuring Resnick on the trail of two unorthodox burglars. Both stories were scripted by John Harvey from his own novels. |
