The Frontline Test Match - Great Britain v France (22/06/07)

Tomorrow (Friday) sees the Frontline Test Match between Great Britain and France at Headingley.

This will be Tony Smith's first match in charge since he took over the coaching role from Brian Noble. Many people have commented that Smith, the Leeds Rhinos Head Coach, should not be in charge of a GB team as he is Australian and many wanted an English name to take charge. That wasn't to be so the proof will be in the pudding when the real Test Matches start this autumn.

The teams have been picked and are as follows:-

Great Britain: C Melling; D Hodgson, S Wild, P Sykes, A Gardner; D McGuire, R Burrow; A Morley (capt), J Roby, A Lynch, G Ellis, A Coley, J Wilkin Replacements: S O'Loughlin, J Graham, K Sinfield, J Langley

France: T Bosc; C Villegas, C Stacul, S Houles, S Planas; M Greseque, C Moly; J Guisset (capt), J Rinaldi, D Ferriol, E Anselme, O Elima, A Cologni Replacements (from): J-C Borlin, C Gossard, G Mounis, J Wynne, M Griffi

Referee: Steve Ganson (St Helens).

The match kicks off at 8.00pm.

Match Result

Great Britain 42-14 France

Well done to all the lads. They faltered a bit at the beginning but made up for it in the end!!

I was gakd to see Rob Burrow given a chance in the squad and he scored two tries as well.
