Bradford Bulls docked points for breaching Salary Cap

Bradford Bulls have been found guilty of breaching the Salary Cap for the 2006 Super League XI season.

Two points will be deducted from their points total this season with immediate effect. The were 4% over the limit.

St Helens have been fined £22,000 for a similar offence and £4,000 of the total was from a suspended fine from 2005.

Wigan Warriors are the third club waiting to hear their fate. They had asked for a delay in proceedings to get all their information together.

Serious breaches of the Salary Cap can result in teams now losing 12 points instead of 6. All teams voted for the rise in points deduction this season but Wigan have successfully won the argument that any breach they may or may not have had, during the 2006 season, should be dealt with under the 2006 rules.
