Orbs

What are orbs? This is an age old question that is open to great argument and debate.
To some people, orbs are believed to be the first manifestation of a ghost but to other people, orbs are caused by both scientific and natural phenomena. Orbs appear as balls of light and tend to be invisible to the naked eye. They are the most common captured anomaly on film.

So what are the possible causes of orbs?

• Moisture eg rain drops
• Dust - even the slightest of movement can cause miniscule particles of dust to go into the air. Can also include pollen articles as possible causes of orbs.
• Insects
• Cameras – flashlight reflecting off reflective surfaces such as mirrors and mirrors; also when two people take a photo simultaneously can also cause orbs. Possible dirt on lens can also be a cause. Another point of view is that it is the camera itself that causes the orb due to focus and light conditions which may explain why it is more probable to see orbs on digital camera rather than a 35mm one.

In conclusion, I tend to approach orbs with an open mind but I do lean towards the view that most orbs are generally caused by either scientific or natural phenomenon rather than the paranormal, but there are times when I do think they may be paranormal. It is best to judge an orb on its own and to keep an open mind.
