Lewis: And the Moonbeams Kiss the Sea

ITV1 started its run of the second series of Lewis with And the Moonbeams Kiss the Sea. The second series has four episodes, one more than the first series.

There's a body in the library - the Bodleian of course and another one by Cherwell.

DS Hathaway was back to notice the repeated links in the plot to poet Percy Shelley - and a university teacher explaining elementary school-level statistics rather than university-level mathematics to her students was there to lead the viewer straight to one of the culprits.

Clare Holman playing Dr Laura Hobson had more lines than usual in the show presumably because she will be Lewis's new love interest as well as the local forensic pathologist.

The show emphasises the themes of the Oxford countryside and the university much more than the Morse series on which it is based and the plots are weaker. Lewis and Hathaway finally solve the plot of this episode some time after the viewers. But the show is well produced, has nice scenery and should be popular.
