Monks Walk 06 July 2008

On Sunday, I had the opportunity to investigate Monks Walk, Hampshire; it wasn't the customary overnighter, more an evening investigation. The location used to be used as an old hospital.

The investigation started around 8pm with a talk from the current owner. After the chat, we split into three groups. The group I was in investigated the gym near the ladies toilets. One member of the team didn't like the small room just off the gym so naturally I had to go and sit in there!

I asked if I could do a solo vigil. This doesn't usually happen because for reasons of evidence and health and safety. Fortunately I was permitted to sit alone however my teamleader was nearby just in case. The room went very cold on occasions and I sensed the presence of a man with the name Thomas.

After a break, the teams went back on vigils and I was asked if I would sit back in the ladies gym with my team leader by the organiser. We were sat on benches forming a triangle. The medium sensed a soldier with a missing left foot. There were various bangs during the vigil; most I believe were caused by the wind outside that night but there were a couple of bangs which reminded me very much of Morse Code....... We moved down to the other gym where I thought I saw a shadow. After a little while, we started to make our way back when we thought we saw a red light from my dictaphone move! We stood at the doorway watching with interest. The more we watched, the more we thought we were seeing little flashing lights. We then decided to go and have a look; the dictaphone had moved!! Just typical of my luck that I hadn't brought my camcorder down.!

Our next vigil was in the main gallery hall; we held a seance and although I felt a few cold drafts, I didn't really sense anything else. Couple of people thought they had been touched!!

All in all, it was a fairly small place to investigate. It's an interesting place and it had a nice feeling about it. I'd really love to go back there on an all nighter investigation and see if we can capture some more activity and I hope to be able to return in a couple of weeks.
