Christopher Foyle duly solved the final murder in Hastings during the war - and packed his bags for retirement.

ITV1 continued the interrupted screening of the final series of Foyle's War last night, picking up an audience of 7.1 million.

Plan of Attack, the first episode of series six, and probably the last series of Foyle's War is broadcast on ITV1 this evening.
