Kellie Pickler's Grandfather is recovering at home after a heart attack earlie this week.

Clive Pickler was apparently holidaying in Shallotte on the N.C. coast when he was struck witrh chest pain and shortness of breath and was hospitalized for heart problems.

In case people have missed the fact that he and Kellie Pickler were an item, Constantine Maroulis has been speaking about the fact that they are no longer an item.

American Idol series five top 12 finalist, Chris Daughtry from North Carolina has ended speculation by signing with 19 Recordings/RCA Records.

Apparently Chris will form a band and has already begun to work with A list collaborators to record self and co/written songs, with an expected first cd release date of late autumn 2006.

American Idol Semi-Finalist Katharine McPhee has now signed a record deal with Simon Fuller's 19 Recordings Limited and RCA, in conjunction with legendary music industry executive Clive Davis, chairman of BMG U.S. and RCA Records.

Taylor Hicks' Single, "Do I Make you Proud"/ "Take it to the Streets" will be released on June 13th in the US. Pity that his second song is the one on the compilation disc.

Katharine McPhee's Single, "My Destiny"/ "Think" despite the cd's title, the songs now are "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and "My Destiny" and will be released on June 20th, in the US.

This Season 5's Finalists Album was released in the US on May 23rd. The same date as this year's American Idol Final.

Since Vonzell's exit last season, the singer has been traveling all over the United States for public appearances on TV shows such as "The Tyra Banks Show," and VH-1's "Big in O5" awards show, concerts and other events such as Kellogg's 100-year anniversary party and serving as grand marshal for the Edison Festival of Light parade in Fort Myers.

Bo Bice was series 4 runner up to Carrie Underwood.

Bice signed with RCA less than 24 hours after the "Idol" finale.

Carrie Underwood, series 4 winner of American Idol (although not for much longer!), has had a very busy and successful year.

She scored the fastest-selling country debut album for a female artist. The singer's disc Some Hearts has been certified triple platinum (three million sales) after spending 20 weeks on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. According to her record label, it's the fastest certification of its kind in history for a debut album by a female country artist. “Some Hearts” has spent a total of 15 weeks at the top of Billboard's top 40.
