Home of two major cities, Sacramento and San Francisco, northern California is a world away from the beaches, flipflops and celebrities of southern California.

A late flourish from Australia led them to their first ever victory in a World Cup Finals tournament. All three goals came from substitutes, with Everton midfielder Tim Cahill scoring two, and John Aloisi scoring the other in injury time.
