Serbia & Montenegro

Serbia and Montenegro were on the receiveing end of a humiliating defeat to Argentina, who looked nothing short of outstanding. Argentina's display was almost pure perfection from start to finish, and they were the better team by a mile, as the scoreline suggests. 3 goals either side of half time were enough to seal an emphatic victory for the South American giants, who have sent out a huge warning to the rest of the world that they mean business! The goals came courtesy of Maxi Rodriguez (x2), Estebian Cambiasso, Hernan Crespo, Carlos Tevez and Lionel Messi.

The Dutch got their World Cup campaign off to a good start with a win over Serbia and Montenegro. There was a sea of orange around the stadium, as per usual for Holland matches, and these fans left the stadium in Leipzig in good spirits following their sides 1-0 win. Serbia and Montenegro put up a valiant effort, particularly in the second half, but in the end, the Dutch were just a little bit too good for them. Arjen Robben's 17th minute effort proved the difference between the two sides.
