Ghana have managed to beat the Czech Republic in quite possibly the biggest shock of the tournament so far. The Czech Republic, who are ranked second in the world, had a number of shots, but in the end were unable to find the final ball. They scored once, just after half time, but it was disallowed for offisde. However, the day truly belonged to the Ghanaians. Despite a missed penalty, goals from Amasoah Gyan and Sulley Mantari were enough to give them their first ever World Cup victory in their first ever World Cup.

The Czech Republic recorded their first World Cup victory of this campaign with a comfortable 3-0 win over the United States. A wonder goal from Arsenal’s new signing Tomas Rosicky was the highlight of the match, with Jan Koller scoring the Czech’s first, and Rosicky scoring one other goal. The Czech’s played some very creative football, and their midfield looked very strong, and could be a team to look out for in this World Cup. The U.S.A on the other hand were second best for pretty much the whole match, and didn’t seem creative or strong enough to break down their European opponents.
