You know, I wish we in middle Europe would celebrate our meals in that way. A lot of different flavors combining to a wonderful dinner. I was just waiting to see you drunk. 😂 Take care guys

  3. Guts says:

is the miso you eat with the cucumber the same as the miso paste you make miso soup with?

Sinichi and Satoshi, yay! It's fabulous to see you making low-carb dishes! The pizza looked perfect! So did the pork cutlet! The ume wine sounded great to me. A little sour and not-too-sweet is just my style! Thanks for sharing it all!

  12. John D says:

I absolutely LOVE plum wine, it's sooooooo good!  I'd definitely enjoy some low-carb videos, this looked like a great meal, especially for summer.  It's really hot here in New Mexico, also.

the spread looked amazing! it's so hot here in California it made the cucumber look even more refreshing. I'd love to try that with the miso. also tonkatsu is on my list of things I really want to try to make so an instructional video from you guys would be a great help!

  19. Anna Tran says:

    tonkatsu tutorial pleaseeee

  20. Isos says:

Now I NEED the recipe for the tofu pizza! Is it just fried tofu on the bottom or something more complicated? I'd love to see the tonkatsu's recipe with one of your twists too, since the basic one is pretty common.
I loved this video, I think you really did a good job with the dishes and their presentation. Yakitori looked gorgeous! But I still wonder what ume wine really tastes like… 😀

  29. nutcasefruitcake says:

I have to say I'm not accustomed to many Japanese foods (I guess some of it is an acquired taste because I honestly am not a fan of miso or raw cucumbers) since the first time I had Japanese food was maybe in high school.  However, your dinner looked very healthy!

  30. Gregory Barber says:

The pizza recipe would be good as a gluten free alternative so please post it as I have never tried tofu but recently bought some and I don't know what to do with it. Helen in the UK.

  31. Kevin.Castillo says:

xD Is it as sour as umeboshi?

  32. bcgrote says:

Have you tried a pizza crust made with cauliflower?  It's low in calories but can be made into many things.  You would grate the head, then basically cook it similar to the ramen crust, I think.  I've also seen it used as "rice" (sacrilege!).
I'd love a tonkatsu recipe, so yummy!

  33. 10 Million Miles Journey says:

I love your shirt Shinichi! Your food always looks so good. I think you are much better than these prime-time tv cooking shows. These tv show are "not real", but yours is authentic, real-life. I normally have no interest in food shows, but I think it is you both and your personalities which make it interesting (plus your shirts and awesome room). You made me crave food again, particularly after I saw the "nato"(?) pizza! Hahaha, good comment about pizza and the waist line 😉 Tonkazzy (sorry for spelling, the last pork item) looks awesome!

  34. Gregory Barber says:

+TabiEats I bought morinaga MORI-NU silken tofu firm

  35. R.A. Bobby B says:

didn't like natto the first time I tried it. But I watched a video where the person added it to hot rice and then mixed in a raw egg. So I tried it that way and really like it a lot.

  36. Murasaki says:

" I love pizza, but I don't like what it does to my waist line" hahaha, too funny.

  37. Mao Mee Vue says:

    Yummmy

  38. Leoyfs says:

You guys are awesome!! "I looove pizza, but I don't like what it does to my waistline!" haha Many greetings from Germany!!

    NATTTTTOOOO!

Oh! We'd love to know how your mom makes the Ume wine and the other fermented foods!

  41. Heidi Rodis says:

Do you guys live together? I love it when mom comes over to bring over some stuff she makes.

  44. pluckernil says:

Isn't the miso really salty when dipped like that? It reminds me of hummus lol

  45. Kathy Somers says:

I live in southwest Florida (very, very hot) and my husband and I in the summer will eat meals of raw vegetables dipped in blue cheese dressing.

  46. VampyrMygg says:

A lot of Japanese food looks so healthy to me, makes me wanna try it. But the only Japanese food i can get here is sushi. The cucumbers looks very different from the ones we get here in Norway, is it a special kind? The ones we get look a lot thicker.

  47. Alex Fz says:

"I love pizza but I don't like what it does to my waist line" hahaha, has never stopped me from having a slice of pizza XD
