Thanks for showing us Akita 😊 It's a region of Japan I haven't been to yet, that butter mochi makes it tempting though haha.

  5. Tamara says:

Love this video! I always watch your new videos in the early morining and this on makes me hungry. The butter mochi looks delicious, I really want to try it (I could have it for breakfast hahaha) and I need that yakitori! What a great idea the sake taste set, more izakaya need to have that. It would be a good way to promote sake throughout Japan since sake sales are on decline.

The wappa crafts look amazing. I thought only bento were made like this so very interesting to see that also other items can be made using the wappa technique. Beautiful nature around that part of the country as well. But if I visit I will go when it's warmer, I'm not good with cold.

In the Netherlands we have horsemeat as well although it is not very popular. Sometimes you can buy it in the supermarket. Horse meat steak is delicious if you can you should try it.

I love mochi. I also like this video and can’t wait for the next video. It’s so interesting when you go to other parts of japan. And it’s not the “main” tourist places (nothing wrong with those places though).

  35. BETTY BOOP says:

Did you have a hoarse throat after lunch??? Mum said in post war Italy, horse meat was accepted
Europe still uses it, but over time I have realised that as long as ppl do not eat endangered animals, who am I to judge. I am more concerned with the process with least animal cruelty&commercial industries need to improve. Mum says do not trust ppl who dislike dogs&my shyness goes, such cute dogs. Thoughts on dog meat? It is a beautiful area, I think Satoshi is in his element in such an environment. You guys should run small tours, where ppl have choices of accomodation according to budget, how awesome would that be. Thanks for adding to my list. Cheers

We will be in Akita in a few weeks, this video was absolutely invaluable, so thank you! As for horse, my roommate in med school in Italy once made horse meat meatloaf for dinner. I don't eat meatloaf to begin with. Made from horse, well, it's now about 43 years later, we are still talking about that dinner. No, we did not eat Fury. Again, thanks for the tips, will have to find the Akita Visitor's Center, we own shiba inus. Cuter than akitas, but not by much.
